Situated on a steeply sloping site in Shailer Park, the client wished to build a contemporary six bedroom residence with multiple living areas. The views to the south and bush surroundings were to be maximised, whilst also utilizing the existing house slabs previously built on the site.

To create privacy through the house, three separate zones were created with each housing bedrooms and a living area. The zones were then located around the central hub of the living, dining and kitchen. This hub was located to the front of the site to maximise the site’s views and flat usable yard space.

The master suite zone was situated above the garage and linked to the main living via a bridge. The bridge not only allowed for privacy and airflow but also allowed much needed light to penetrate into the lower levels.

The rear zone included three large bedrooms, bathrooms and a retreat area with direct access to the yard. This was designed so that it could be easily hidden from the main living hub.

The lower zone was designed to have flexibility in its use, either for a flat or home office. It included two bedrooms, a bathroom, living room and a patio.
