This renovation was undertaken as part of a small subdivision where the existing house was to be retained within a Brisbane City Council (BCC) demolition controlled precinct (DCP). The existing house was moved across on the site and raised, enabling it to be built under and out to the rear.

The client’s brief was to create a spacious open plan living arrangement to the lower floor and to transform the existing upper floor into 5 large bedrooms and a retreat area.

The front facade was to comply with the BCC character code whilst maintaining a contemporary feel and working in with the existing structure.
